I didn't want to waste my time at NH having been there many times in the past. Like happy sixty says it is one of my fav destinations to get away from home. White Mountains has remained a persistent favorite for me too. Flume Gorge was crowded and we decided to skip up and head up to vermont.

I noticed a startling difference in the scenery as we entered Vermont. The reason could be multifold.

I've always been fond of Willow Trees. Call it willow tree magic. (Boughs that break and bend but do not fall).

There was another reason. This magnificient lake.

Vermont i thought was brilliant as we entered right at the northern point where 93 meets 91. The fall colours were so bright and sparkling that it seemed to make all the difference.

Vermont has the hottest cofee around , I haven't had cofee that hot in a long while and getting a laptop is quite handy. All rest areas have free Wi-Fi. Not to mention the extremely picturesque countryside.

As we entered farms with so much of dung smell, for a while i thought of india. It is so akin to the smell of an indian farm house. And there is something to be said about the fresh air that roams around the countryside. And the villages. I saw a Sears on my way and it was the size of a Doll House(well not exactly but small).

Cows on the fields, Horse Farms, Pigs.. yep animals we saw them all.

As we headed up north through vermont to WestMore towards this lake (which in fact was my main reason for going there in the first place). It started raining. I had forgotten about the fog. It was so very foggy in the mountains. All you could see between was the thick fog and the roads and willoughby seemed like a mist. What a disappointment.

I had gone there all the way to see it and here it was, fog fog fog for as far as i could. and it rained.

We waiting for a while there hoping the sun would come up and the fog would lift . The next leg of the trip took us to crystal lake where i had seen some very picturesque cabins and was tempted to stay there for the night. The lake adjoined a mountain and the cabins at least their photos looked compelling.

the photographs looked quite good but when we reached there i thought they didnt look quite so good. some cabins nestled just below the mountians would have been better
(a few of them) with the only view leading up to the lake and the mountains.
